Beyond Words: Transforming Communication Through Storytelling
Every craftsperson has their own toolbox and must know how to use it well. Storytelling is no different. Stories have the power to bring historical events closer, help us understand connections, make sense of the world around us, and even understand ourselves better. Join storyteller Tomáš Jireček for a storytelling workshop where you will learn to work with words, your body, personal experience, reflection, imagination, and creativity. Tomáš has a wealth of techniques up his sleeve, gathered throughout his journey as a storyteller and improviser. Workshop content Learn how to use words and body language to spark your audience’s imagination and help them create vivid mental images. Once your listeners begin to ″see″ the story in their minds, you have succeeded. Together, we will explore how this relates to attention, engagement, and clarity of communication. Discover how to awaken your audience’s desire to hear your story. You will learn how to build a clear and compelling story structure that captures and maintains attention. Tomáš will guide you through techniques for highlighting the key themes of a story while allowing less important details to remain in the background. All techniques will be explored through practical exercises. Movement-based activities will also be included, helping to bring energy, dynamism, and authenticity to your storytelling. About the facilitator Tomáš Jireček is a storyteller, trainer, improviser, and dramatherapist. He helps people rediscover creativity, confidence, and genuine human connection. He works with educators, non-profit organisations, companies, and individuals. Together with fellow storyteller Martin Hak, he co-leads Storyseč, a summer workshop where the craft of storytelling meets the art of improvisation. They also created Černá hodinka (″The Black Hour″), an event that gives anyone attending the opportunity to become a storyteller. In addition, they developed the original performance bludištěM (″LabyrinthM″), exploring male archetypes. Tomáš has been passionately engaged in storytelling for more than nine years. Každý řemeslník má svůj kufřík s nářadím a musí s ním umět pracovat a zacházet. U vypravěčského řemesla tomu není jinak. Příběhy mají tu moc pomáhat přiblížit historické události, pochopit souvislosti, svět kolem nás i nás samotné. Přijměte pozvání do vypravěčské dílny pod vedením Tomáše Jirečka, kde se naučíte pracovat se slovem, vlastním tělem, prožitkem, reflexí, fantazií i kreativitou. Tomáš má v rukávu spoustu technik, které nasbíral po cestě vypravěče a improvizátora! Náplň dílny: Naučte se používat slova a tělo tak, abyste u posluchačů rozvinuli jejich představivost a obrazotvornost. Jestliže si posluchač vaše vyprávění začne ″promítat″ v hlavě ve formě obrázků, máte vyhráno. Společně objevíme, jak to celé souvisí s pozorností i srozumitelností. Probuďte u posluchačů touhu slyšet váš příběh. Seznámíte se s tvorbou jasné struktury příběhu, která zaujme a udrží pozornost. Tomáš vás provede technikami zaměřenými na zdůraznění důležitých témat příběhu, zatímco ty méně podstatné necháme stranou. Všechny techniky si vyzkoušíte prakticky. Nebude chybět ani pohyb, aby vaše vyprávění nabylo dynamiky a živosti. Tomáš Jireček je vypravěč příběhů, lektor, improvizátor, dramaterapeut. Pomáhá lidem znovu objevovat tvořivost, důvěru a živý kontakt s druhými. Pracuje s pedagogy, neziskovkami, firmami i jednotlivci. Spolu s Martinem Hakem, též vypravěčem, spolu vedou letní dílnu Storyseč, kde se potkává řemeslo vypravěčů s dovedností improvizace.
